The Spitzer Space Telescope has allowed us to peer into the darkness of space. By observing infrared wavelengths, it can peel back the shroud of gas and dust and give us a peek at what lurks inside. Spitzer has revealed intricate details inside objects that were once thought to be barren. It has also revealed stellar nurseries, areas where new stars are being formed. The images in this gallery have been hand-selected by Sea and Sky for their visual beauty and represent some of the best images captured by the Spitzer Space Telescope.
