Jupiter and Ganymede
This amazing image was captured by NASA's Cassini spacecraft and shows Jupiter and its largest moon, Ganymede. Details can be seen in Jupiter's cloud belts, including several swirling storms. The light colored ovals in the cloud bands are thought to be cyclonic storms similar to hurricanes on Earth. Ganymede is the largest moon on the Solar System. It is about 50% larger than our own moon and is larger than the planet Mercury, Even at this small size, the heavily cratered surface of Ganymede is apparent.
