The pink skunk clownfish (Amphiprion perideraion) in common throughout the Indian and Pacific Oceans from Tonga and the Great Barrier Reef in the west Pacific Ocean to the Cocos and Christmas Islands in the eastern Indian Ocean. It is one of the few fish species that will inhabit a sea anemone. The clownfish develops an immunity to the stinging tentacles of the anemone. The anemone provides it with protection from predators, and the clownfish helps to provide food for the anemone. This is known as a symbiotic relationship.
