Regal Angelfish
This image of a regal angelfish was captured by NOAA photographers in the waters off the island of Fiji in the Pacific Ocean. This species is common on coral reefs throughout Indian and Pacific oceans. The regal angelfish is known for its vivid vertical striations of blue, white, yellow, or orange on the body and pelvic fin. It grows to a length of 10 inches (25 centimeters) and feeds on sponges, algae and small invertebrates.
