Space Telescope
This image of the Hubble Space Telescope was taken by the crew of Space Shuttle Discovery during mission STS-82 in 1997. STS-82 was the second servicing mission flown to upgrade Hubble. This image was taken shortly after the enormous telescope was placed back into orbit at the end of the mission. During the mission, crews replaced the Goddard High Resolution Spectrograph (GHRS) and Faint Object Spectrograph (FOS) with the Space Telescope Imaging Spectrograph (STIS) and Near Infrared Camera and Multi-Object Spectrometer (NICMOS) scientific instruments.
