Victoria Crater
This close-up image of Victoria crater on Mars was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. This beautiful crater is about a half mile (800 meters) across. It was studied extensively recently by the rover Opportunity. The rover spent 14 months photographing and analyzing the crater from ground level. The crater was probably many millions of years ago by a gigantic asteroid impact.
