Gorgonian Forest
Like trees in an underwater forest, this coral reef hosts a large number of gorgonians. Gorgonians are a type of coral that grows into tall, branching structures that resemble a tree. They are formed from colonies of thousands of individual, tiny polyps. These tiny animals secrete a hard substance known as gorgonin that they use to form the structure of the gorgonian. Gorgonians are found om tropical waters all over the world in a variety of colors including red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple.
