This fish is a member of the family Pomacentridae, which includes damselfishes and the clownfishes. The staghorn damselfish is widespread throughout the tropical waters of the western Pacific Ocean. It is a small sized fish that can reach a maximum size of about 4 inches (11 centimeters) in length. They feed mainly on small crustaceans.
