It represents the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, the king and queen of Ethiopia. Andromeda was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the sea monster Cetus. She was saved by Perseus when he turned Cetus to stone by using the dismembered head of the Medusa. |
