Hubble View of Mars
This image is one of the most detailed views of Mars acquired by the Hubble Space Telescope. The image was made using the Wide Field Planetary Camera-2 (WFPC2) just before Mars made its closest approach to Earth. The polar ice cap can be clearly seen at the top. Thin, white clouds can also be seen in the atmosphere at the edges of the image. |
