Whirlpool Galaxy
This spectacular view of the Whirlpool Galaxy, M51, was obtained with the Kitt Peak 0.9-meter telescope in 1991. This object is composed of two galaxies; a large spiral galaxy and a much smaller barred spiral galaxy.
