Purple Staghorn Coral
The staghorn coral is one of the stony coral species, having a hard calcium skeleton. It is a member of the acropora family of corals. This coral gets its name from its shape, which resembles the antlers of a male deer, or stag. The coral is home to hundreds of tiny creatures known as coral polyps. |
